What I’ve been up to lately

February 4th, 2010 | No Comments

I was in Florida the last 2 weeks!
It was a very unexpected vacation, we did not even know we were going the day before we left :)

We had talked about going to FL some time this year, but did not think we were going so soon.
Every year Dad’s Parents stop by us on their way from MI to FL. This year we went with them!

Grandpa and Grandma have a place in a park near Ft Myers that we stayed at. In the park there were heated swimming pools that we went swimming in. Esther learned to swim.
G&G also have a golf cart that was fun to drive.
There was a lake in the park that I saw a snapping turtle in that was around 14 inches long.

Since there was a freeze the day before we came down there were lots of dead fish on the beach, and the water was cold, but at least we got the ocean and beach to ourselves :)
It also made the fish come closer to shore. We saw: small sword fish, a puffer fish, lots of little fish, catfish, starfish, and horse shoe crabs.
On a different beach we saw a dead iguana that was 2 – 3 ft long (I have no idea where it came from).

On one of the beaches there was a dock that went out about 200 ft or so – there were also buoys about 150 ft out or so. Dad swam out to one and I was going to  but we went on the dock first and a guy that was fishing caught a sting ray………….I decided not to swim out that far……….

On another beach called shark tooth beach I found 8 shark teeth, all of them small, but still very nice. I don’t know why there are so many shark teeth there…………..

We went to manatee park and saw lots of manatees, I also saw a carp.
Throughout the whole vacation I saw lots of birds.

The first Sunday we went to the Church in the park and heard a great sermon, the 2nd Sunday we drove through alligator alley, did not see any alligators, and visited The New Presbyterian Church.
For anyone who does not know – it was part of Coral Ridge until they had a split a few months ago (you can learn a lot by searching online). On the way back we did not see any alligators either, I am not sure why because we went through it last year and couldn’t pass 100 yards without seeing one.

We were supremely blessed by God for giving us a great, unexpected vacation.

BTW: I have not posted very much or read many blogs lately and hope to do more blogging in the future.

Alabama’s Gubernatorial Candidates

August 15th, 2009 | No Comments

Sorry for not posting this before – some of the keys on the keyboard were not working and it would have taken a long time to copy and paste.

Last Tuesday  some of my family and I had a opportunity to hear the Republican Alabama Gubernatorial Candidates speak!

  1. Tim James
  2. Roy Moore
  3. Bradley Byrne
  4. Bill Johnson
  5. Kay Ivey
  6. Robert Bentley

(I have had only 1 chance to hear them other than Roy Moore speak so any info I provide about them is only from 1 time.)

I will be focusing on the first 3 because I don’t remember the other three saying anything that showed they were Christian.

Tim James – a lot of Christians seem to like him, but I am not sure why.   Because  when he was speaking I did not hear anything showing he was a Christian (there may have been 1 time it was said in his intro).  If he will not say he is a Christian for fear of not being elected I sure don’t want him as governor.  I may be totally wrong, but I don’t see how someone can forget to say something that important.

Bradley Byrne – from what I heard he seemed like a great choice for governor.  He wants a smaller government, he is a Christian, and he was  even bold enough to mention he was against homosexual marriage!

Roy Moore – The reason my family is going for him and not Bradley Byrne is because he has had a chance to prove that he fears God more than man.  He was  even removed from the office of chief justice because tyrants in government forced him to choose between not acknowledging God (his duty – he swore to uphold the Constitution which acknowledges God) or acknowledging God and being removed by their unlawful actions.  He chose correctly though it cost him dearly because as the Apostle Peter said “we must obey God rather than men!” Acts 5:29

He is pro-life, anti-sodomite (homosexual) marriage, pro-homeschool.  He wants a smaller, more Constitutional government, and he does what he says he will do!

Here is proof that he was absolutely right:

James Madison, our Constitution’s chief architect, said: “We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future of all our political institutions upon the capability of mankind for self-government; upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments”

John Quincy Adams said:  “The highest glory of the American revolution was this:  it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity”

George Washington said:  “Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the Providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to to implore His protection and favor…”

George Washington also said “It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible”

Samuel Adams said “Religion and good morals are the only solid foundations of public liberty and happiness.   [N]either the wisest constitution not the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manner are universally corrupt. A general dissolution of the principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy.  While the people are virtuous , they cannot be subdued; but once they lose their virtue, they will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external of internal invader.”

Muslim Demographics

I wish they had talked about how Christians need to have more children. Muslims are having 8.1 children and I doubt Christians are having that many children

The Patriot Pastor

July 29th, 2009 | No Comments

Last Sunday Garret Lear preached at our Church.   He is an excellent speaker who knows the Bible, politically incorrect history (which is correct), the Constitution, and many more important things very well.

He understands the founding of our Country extremely well, overall I would say he is the best historian I know.

Here is a little about him (copied from his site)

Garrett Lear, a native New Englander born in 1948, is affectionately known across the nation as “The Patriot Pastor” because of his expertise and extensive knowledge and documentation of the founding of America , his deep abiding love for the original intent of The Founding Fathers and his understanding of The New Testament Church. He has 388 years of ancestry in New England America and is a member of The National Society Sons of The American Revolution. He has been in ministry since 1974 with the last 28 years fulltime with ministry in all 50 states, Canada and Eastern Europe. Although, he has  an imposing stature at 6’7”, it is very obvious that he loves Jesus Christ with all his heart, mind and strength while he teaches others to do the same. He is commonly referred to as a great encourager of victorious Christian  living in any circumstances.

Garrett has been a denominational leader, a local pastor, evangelist, prison chaplain, prayer intercessor, local leader of many national ministries, Bible college teacher, Gospel singer ,worship leader, revival and conference speaker. He is mentor and often called upon wise counselor to many church, government and business leaders across the country. He has been appreciated especially in men’s ministries over the years… a man’s man. He is a popular radio, television and media guest including such national programs as The 700 Club. He hosts his own radio broadcast “Water From The Well” and 2 internet websites that are widely visited. It is said of him that he is always interesting, well informed, often humorous, understandable, vigorous and filled with The Holy Spirit… and that he expects great things to happen in The Lord’s presence … and they do. His practical application of Biblical principles are seasoned with many years of living by faith and the testimonies of The Lord’s miraculous answers to prayer.

Garrett and Annette, his wife who is a Hawaiian , founded The Well of Living Water Christian Ministries based on John 4 in 1980 in Hana, Maui, Hawaii after a lengthy time of fasting and prayer. They have 4 natural children, numerous foster children, 1 grandchild and many spiritual sons and daughters in The Lord.

They home educated their children and encouraged others to do the same. Pastor Lear has often spoken at the NH legislature in favor of legislation favorable to home schoolers. He has openly challenged Christians all over America to withdraw their children from the government schools. He has been one of the most active prolife, pro family, pro traditional marriage, original intent smaller government clergyman in New Hampshire and America.

They make their home and ministry base office in the mountains of New Hampshire where Garrett enjoys many outdoor activities.

If Pastor Lear is ever in  your area make sure here get to hear him speak.  He is amazing!
